Ellagee Reviews & Swatches

Dolphins?  What?  Did someone say Dolphins?  Yep, you heard it right.  When Laura over at Ellagee came out with nail polish that had dolphin glitter I knew I had to get my hands on some!  Today, I bring to you three polishes created and sold by Ellagee.  If you are interested in purchasing any of the above shade or any other beautiful polish you can find Ellagee's website here

To start:

Ellagee Living Just as Free as My Hair

"Living Just as Free as My Hair" is a deep, rich grape colored holo polish.  I created this look by applying two coats of "Living Just as Free as My Hair" and placing triangles I purchased from She Sells Seashells UK.  I topped everything with a coat of Vapid Lacquer Top Coat.

I wish I had photographed this polish without a top coat, because the finish is so interesting.  I love the fact that "Living Just as Free as My Hair" is not an extremely intense holo, but instead appears very muted in light box lighting.

Application of this polish was very easy.  I would definitely recommend two coats to reach opacity, and three if you want a richer, deeper shade, however, not necessary.  Also, like previously mentioned, I think this polish would work without a top coat.  Removal was just as easy as application and did not require any picking or heavy rubbing.  Overall, huge thumbs up.

Next up:

Ellagee Marvelous Delilah

"Marvelous Delilah" is a creamy, pastel peach shade.  I created this manicure by starting with two coats of "Marvelous Delilah" and finishing with a coat of Vapid Lacquer Top Coat.  I placed fimo clay slices to accent this manicure and give it a fruit salad theme.  This peach shade is perfect for any sunny manicure or pedicure.  I definitely cannot wait to try it on my toes!

You can use three if you like, but I was quite happy with two.  Not only was this cream polish easy to apply, but it was also easy to remove.  I did not have any issues that required picking or scrubbing.

Last, but definitely not least, since there are DOLPHINS:

Ellagee Dolphins of the Caribbean

"Dolphins of the Caribbean" is a fun, teal jelly shade with assorted glitter pieces, but most importantly with large dolphin shaped glitter!  For this manicure, I started with three coats of "Dolphins of the Caribbean".  I personally, prefer three coats because of the density it creates, but if you like it a bit more sheer, two coats would definitely suffice.

Shade lighting of "Dolphins of the Caribbean".  The name of this polish definitely gives me a good chuckle.  However, my favorite part about this shade is that the large pieces of dolphin shaded glitter were so not a pain in the butt!!  They do not sink, they lay flat, and they do not peel up.  What's so cool about this polish is that the teal jelly layers over the dolphin shaded glitter and it makes some of the dolphins look like they're in the water, and some outside of the water!  I think that it creates such a cool illusion.

Overall, I am thrilled with this collection and with Ellagee!  I loved how easy all of the polishes applied and covered.  But most imporantly, I love the creativity!  I have never seen dolphin shaped glitter, but also, dolphin shaped glitter that didn't make me want to never use large shaped glitter again!!  If you want a polish that applies easy, removes easy, and requires no fishing, I definitely recommend Ellagee.

I had such a blast swatching and reviewing these polishes.  Which one was your beauties favorite?  If you are interested in purchasing any of the polishes I reviewed here, or any other beautiful Ellagee shades, you can find them here.  Have a beautiful day!!
